Policies & Procedures

Meet & Greet 
Honey Home Keepers requires an initial consultation to meet you and your pet(s) and ensure we are a good fit for one another. During this meeting we will review your Client Profile and we ask that you educate us on all things related to your pet(s) and home. This is a complimentary, 45 minute consultation in person or via Zoom.

Reservations 
To reserve a Home Keeper, we require a $50 deposit. This deposit will secure your dates and be applied to the total cost of services.  Deposits for holiday reservations are non-refundable.

There is no surcharge for reservations requested within 24 hours of a scheduled visit. Please keep in mind, we may not be able to accommodate same-day Meet & Greet requests, so it is always best to book in advance to secure a reservation.

You may schedule services through the Honey Home Keepers Client Portal once you’ve registered for an account (free).

Holidays
There is a $10 surcharge for any services we provide on all major holidays. We have 9 days we consider a “holiday”:  New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

All deposits collected for holiday reservations are non-refundable.

Payment
You may submit payment to Honey Home Keepers via cash, check, Venmo or PayPal. Payment is required within three days after services have been completed. There is a $30 surcharge for any returned checks. Tips are not expected but are certainly appreciated and 100% of your tip goes directly to your Home Keeper.

Cancellations
Please notify Honey Home Keepers immediately if you need to cancel services. We understand life happens and surprises come up. However, if no cancellation notice is given, Honey Home Keepers will charge the full amount of the services.

  • Cancellations may be made up to 3 days in advance of your scheduled service without charge, including a full refund of your deposit (excluding holiday reservations).
  • Cancellations made with fewer than 3 days’ notice will incur a charge of 25% of the total services.
  • No cancellation provided will incur a charge of 100% of the services.

Early return: Once we have scheduled, confirmed, and started caring for your pet(s) and home, a $50 fee will apply to cancellations due to early return. In the event of death, illness or injury of your pet(s) or a family member, you will receive a 100% refund of the unused portion of your contracted services.

Late return: There will be a $100 per day charge for each additional day the Home Keeper is requested to stay.

Privacy and Security
We take precautions to protect your personal information. When you submit sensitive information via the www.honeyhomekeepers.com website, your information is protected both online and offline. Wherever we collect sensitive information, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way.

Pictures of your pet(s): Please let us know if you do not want us to use pictures of your pet(s) on our website or social media pages. We always make sure our “location” setting is turned off when we take any pictures, so your privacy is protected. 

Background Checks: All of our Home Keepers have undergone and successfully passed a background check.

Home Access
You may leave a home key or garage opener for access to your home. We will provide a lock box to secure keys left on the property. Honey Home Keepers is not liable for lost or stolen keys, openers or fobs. If you have a security system, we require you to program a 4-digit code for us, a code that we will provide at the Meet & Greet. We DO NOT use your code. Security systems allow anywhere from 30 to 100 additional codes to be programmed. If you do not know how to program a code, please contact the customer service department of your security company.

Insurance
Honey Home Keepers, LLC is insured for General Liability coverage. Our limits are set at a $1,000,000 per occurrence with a maximum of $2,000,000.

Honey Home Keepers will not be liable for pre-existing damages, scratches, dings in windows, paint, furniture, floors, walls, etc. or items not secured in a proper manner. Items of monetary or sentimental value should be put away before your Home Keeper arrives.

Visitors
Please notify us if there will be anyone visiting or entering your home while you are away. This includes family, friends, neighbors, workers, house cleaners, etc. Honey Home Keepers will not be liable for any damages caused by the acts of others in your home.  We will call the police on any suspicious persons or intruders on your property that we have not been previously notified of.

Emergencies
In the event of a non-life-threatening emergency, we will always attempt to contact you first. If your pet(s) requires any emergency veterinary care while you are away, we will take them to the veterinarian you have listed on the Veterinarian Release Form attached to your Service Agreement. All fees charged by the treating veterinary facility are your sole responsibility.

Any other emergencies will be discussed with you and your emergency contact(s) listed in your Service Agreement.

Pet Proofing
It is your sole responsibility to “pet-proof” any areas of your home and/or property to which the pet(s) has access. This includes thoroughly inspecting fences, gates, latches, doors and other devices meant to contain the pet(s) or restrict access to specific areas. Our Home Keepers do not assume responsibility and have no liability for any injuries the pet(s) may sustain, or property damage the pet(s) may cause while in their own home/property.

Inclement Weather
Our priority is to keep your pet(s) safe and comfortable while in our care. If it is extremely hot/cold outside, visits and routines will be modified to achieve this.

“I’m home!” calls/texts: Please remember to let us know when you have returned home, otherwise we will continue our services to assure the safety and well-being of your home and pet(s), and any additional trips will be added to the invoice. Please send a message through the Client Portal messenger at ANY hour to inform us you have returned. 🙂
