Meet & Greet: The goal of the initial consultation is to meet you and your pet(s) and ensure we are a good fit for one another. During this complimentary 30 minute meeting we will get acquainted with your pet(s), their routines and your home, as well as review the information you completed in the Client Portal. This includes the Client Profile, Pet Profile(s), and acceptance of these Policies.
Holidays: There is a $10 surcharge for any services we render at your home on all major Holidays. We have 9 days we consider a “holiday”: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
Payment: You may submit payment to Honey Home Keepers via the online Client Portal (Stripe, Venmo, Paypal), cash, or check. A 2.5% processing fee will automatically be added for online payments. Payments are due within three (3) days of a client’s return home. Tips are not expected, though certainly appreciated. 100% of the tip goes directly to your Home Keeper (option to tip is included on the invoice). Returned checks and late payment will incur a $30 surcharge.
Reservations: We encourage our clients to book dates well in advance to ensure Home Keeper availability. If requested dates include holidays or the duration is longer than 7 days, we require a $50 non-refundable deposit to reserve those dates. The deposit will be applied to the total invoice upon completion of the reservation dates. If the deposit is not paid within three (3) days of the deposit invoice, we reserve the right to remove the reservation from the calendar. Please note, that a sitter will be assigned within one month of the requested start date.
Once dates have been requested, you may request a quote for your requested services. If interested, please send a message to Management through the Client portal. Please note, you will need to “Accept” the quote before Honey Home Keepers is able to provide the requested services.
There is a $25 surcharge for reservations requested within 24 hours of a scheduled visit. Please keep in mind we may not be able to accommodate same-day Meet & Greet requests, so it is always best to book in advance to secure a reservation.
- Cancellations may be made up to 7 days in advance of your scheduled service.
- Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will be billed 50% of the total scheduled cost of service.
- Cancellation of service scheduled during holidays must be canceled no less than 7 days in advance of the first scheduled visit, or 75% of the total scheduled cost of service will be charged. This is a courtesy to the Home Keeper who blocked out their calendar in advance to be available for our clients.
Mileage Coverage: When traveling to a Client’s home, the cost includes up to 20 miles from the Home Keeper’s starting point (home). If you are more than 20 miles away, we will charge an additional $1 per mile for one round trip (Overnight service) OR $1 per mile each day (for Day Only Service). (i.e. 25 miles = $5 each way OR $10/day). We do our best to select a Home Keeper located within a 20 mile radius of each Client.
House and Pet Sitting Duration: Unless otherwise noted, the Home Keeper will arrive by 12:00pm on the start date and leave by 12:00pm on the scheduled Return Home date. Any requests for earlier arrival (before 11am) or later stay (after 5pm) will incur an additional fee ($25). On Return Dates, the Client will be invoiced at ½ day rate when the Home Keeper leaves by 12:00pm. If a longer stay is requested, a full day rate will be invoiced.
Late Return/Extended Stay: An additional $25 fee will be charged for each day the Home Keeper is requested to stay past the initial reservation. This is in addition to the daily quoted rate.
Early Return: In the instance a Client returns home before the scheduled return date, 75% of the remaining dates will be charged. Please notify Management as soon as possible.
Privacy of Personal Information: We take precautions to protect your personal information. When you submit sensitive information through our online Client Portal, your information is protected both online and offline. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar. Only the managers of the company and your reserved Home Keeper will have access to this information.
Home Access: You may leave a key or garage opener with your Home Keeper. If you have a security system or garage code, we strongly recommend you program a unique 4-digit code just for us.
Daytime Attention/Visits: Your pet(s) welfare and your home security is of utmost importance to us, so we require Home Keepers to not be away for longer than 5 hours at a time. In order to maintain a golden standard of service and adhere to the established Home Keeper’s Guidelines, these minimums will not be compromised. While some of our Home Keepers work remotely, we do allow the Home Keeper to maintain their school, class and work schedule outside of Honey Home Keepers. We can accommodate special needs requests or round the clock care in unique situations.
Photographs and Social Media: Please let us know if you do not want us to use pictures of your pet(s) on our website or social media pages. We always make sure our “location” setting is turned off when we take any pictures and never use last names, so your privacy is protected.
Cameras & Privacy: We understand and respect cameras on the entrances and outside of the home for security. However, for privacy purposes we prohibit the use of cameras or sound recording devices in bathrooms, bedrooms, or primary areas of the home utilized by our Home Keepers during overnight stays. If a Home Keeper arrives to find there are in-use cameras in these locations, they reserve the right to unplug or cover the cameras, or service will be terminated immediately. In this instance you will be notified and asked to find alternate care for your pet(s).
Background Checks: All of our Home Keepers and staff have undergone and successfully passed a background check.
Insurance: Honey Home Keepers, LLC is both bonded and insured. Our liability limits are set at a maximum of 10 times the cost of the service charge on the day the breakage/loss occurred, up to $2 million dollars.
Honey Home Keepers will not be liable for pre-existing damages, scratches, dings in windows, paint, furniture, floors, walls, etc. or items not secured in a proper manner (e.g. heavy pictures hanging from thumb tacks, not anchored properly to walls). Honey Home Keepers will not be liable for damage done to your home by your pet(s). Items of monetary or sentimental value should be put away before your Home Keeper arrives.
Visitors: Please notify us if there will be anyone else entering your home while you are away. This includes family, friends, neighbors, workers, house cleaners, etc. Honey Home Keepers will not be liable for any damages caused by the acts of others in our Clients’ homes.
Additionally, Honey Home Keepers will decline to provide services if the client has family or guests staying in the home while you (client) are away.
Emergency Veterinary Care: If your pet(s) requires any emergency veterinary care while you are away, we will contact you, the Client, first. If we are unable to reach you and your pet’s condition cannot wait, we will take them to the veterinarian you have provided us in the Client Portal. All fees charged by the treating veterinary facility are your sole responsibility.
Pet Proofing: It is your sole responsibility to “pet-proof” any areas of your home and/or property to which the pet(s) has access. This includes thoroughly inspecting fences, gates, latches, doors and other devices meant to contain the pet(s) or restrict access to specific areas. We assume no liability if they are injured, become ill, or run away/escape. We assume no liability for any injuries the pet(s) may sustain, or property damage the pet(s) may cause while in their own home and/or property.
Household | Pet Supplies: Please leave ample pet supplies and cleaning supplies while you’re away (i.e. food, litter, paper towels, etc.). If we have to make a special trip for these supplies there will be an additional charge for cost of supplies, time, and mileage.
Inclement Weather: Our #1 goal is to keep your pet(s) safe and comfortable while in our care. If it is extremely hot/cold outside, visits and routines will be modified to achieve this. We recommend leaving an “emergency key” with a trusted neighbor as well as their phone number in the Client portal. This is to make sure your pet(s)are covered in the instance our Home Keeper is delayed by the weather or any other situation. There is an additional $5 charge per each requested “stop over” during inclement weather.
- Full Home Cleaning: We offer full home cleaning as an add on service to our overnight stays. Our Home Keepers prefer to use your cleaning supplies and will discuss these with you before use. This service will be quoted upon request.
- Home Organization: We love to organize pantries, closets and other places that sometimes get neglected. This service will be quoted upon request and may require reimbursement for supplies.
- Grocery Pickup: To adhere to your dietary needs, this service works best if you place your order and make necessary payments online and then notify your Home Keeper of the pick-up time and location.
- Meal Prepping: Unless otherwise noted, our Home Keepers will use ingredients and supplies you have in stock to prepare meals for your return. Please let your Home Keeper know in advance if there are items you do not wish to be used.
- Lawn Care: We work with a reputable lawn care company to provide all lawn care services (mowing, trimming, landscaping, gutter cleaning, etc.) and will provide a quote upon request.
- Pool Cleaning (skim surface, empty baskets, vacuum): Please show your Home Keeper where your pool supplies are located during the Meet & Greet or leave a note.
- Garden Care: Watering, weed pulling, harvesting. Most of this is included in your reservation unless it’s a substantial sized garden or yard.
- Pet Grooming: We’re happy to take your pet(s) to their regular groomer or we work with reputable mobile businesses to provide this while you’re away.

Please remember to check the “Home Safe” button in the Client Portal or let us know when you have returned home safely! Otherwise, we will assume we need to continue checking on the safety and wellbeing of your pet(s). Additional trips or extended stay will be added to your bill at the regular rate, plus $25/day.
